Overview

Users are disengaged with the current application, describing it as outdated, unmotivating, and filled with usability and performance issues. Frequent errors and lack of intuitive design have led to a drop in user satisfaction and adoption.

Stakeholders have approached me to enhance the overall user experience focusing on improving usability, modernizing the interface, and re-establishing user trust and motivation.

Old Application

Project Background

The iEngage application was developed to centralize and simplify everyday organizational operations. Earlier, attendance, HR, and administrative activities were managed through multiple disconnected tools, leading to inefficiencies and data inconsistencies.

User story; I am unable to mark attendance. It keeps giving error.

Server is not responding "please try after some time."

Tried multiple times already. Can someone please take a look and get it fixed.?

Qualitative and Quantitative Research

We conducted in-depth research to uncover real user pain points, validate assumptions, and design a product that aligned with business needs. Our approach ensured that each module addressed specific operational challenges effectively.

  • Surveys: 200+ participants across HR, Admin, Marketing, and Development

  • Interviews: 50+ users (50 men, 50 women)

Challenge 1: Complex, Data-Heavy Workflows

The Problem

The ERP needed to manage multi-step workflows (onboarding, leave approvals, document access) across diverse user roles employees, managers, and admins.

Non-technical users found existing systems overwhelming, while admins needed depth and control.

How we might can motivate or adding gamification.

How we might reduce Desktop Cognitive load.

Learnings

ERP systems are inherently data-heavy and process-driven. The challenge was making them feel lightweight and intuitive. I learned to prioritize clarity, progressive disclosure, and role-based simplicity without compromising functionality.

As the project evolved, I ensured all team members from QA to delivery managers understood the “why” behind each design decision. Tools like Notion, Jira, and Miro helped us stay organized and collaborative.

designed and iterated on 3000+ screens across multiple modules each tailored to unique workflows like onboarding, approvals, and operations to create a seamless end-to-end ERP experience.

Some of my work involves sensitive projects that I’m unable to share publicly (Final Screens and Design System).

I would be glad to connect and discuss how I can bring the same thoughtful and strategic design process to your team.
